Here’s how to make a pot of classic black tea:
1. Pre-warm your teapot with hot water. Tip the water out after a few minutes.
2. Fill your kettle with fresh cold water from the tap (boiling water a second time will result in a flat cup of tea due to the loss of oxygen).
3. Place 1 heaped teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup e.g. four cup pot = 4 heaped teaspoons.
3. Pour the boiling water into the pot and steep your tea for 3-5 minutes.
4. Gently rock your teapot from side to side to ensure a well balanced blend.
5. Remove the basket infuser (if you have used one).
6. Pour & Enjoy

We ship all orders with Australia Post. Australia Post provide the following estimates for delivery:

International shipping timeframes:
Australia Post estimates international delivery can be up to 10 – 28 business days. Please note this is a guide only and does not include any customs processing time upon arrival at the destination.
Standard delivery:
Dispatch of your online order from our Melbourne warehouse will be between 1- 2 business days from the time your order is confirmed.
Express delivery:
Express orders are dispatched no later than next business day from our Melbourne warehouse.
Please note: That this does not include weekends or public holiday and selected delivery times will apply after dispatch.
Once your order is dispatched from our warehouse you will receive a dispatch confirmation email. Shortly after you will also receive an email from Australia Post. Click on the tracking number to get updates on the location and progress of your order.
All orders are dispatched from our Melbourne (Australia) Warehouse and are shipped with Australia Post.
Our gifting service is complimentary. Your order will be wrapped in a Monista gift box. We also encourage you to include a personalised message.
All our packaging is plastic free.
No. We will e-mail the receipt directly to you, but will include a packing slip with the order to make sure the recipient knows who the gift is from. There are no prices on the packing slip.
Once you’ve placed your order changes can be made prior to receiving your dispatch e-mail. Changes can be made via e-mailing sales@monista.com.au.
Tracking details for your online order will be emailed to you Once the order has been dispatched. This is usually sent within 1 – 2 business days after you place your order.
All successful orders will display the message “Thank You. Your order has been received” and you will also receive an order confirmation email. Occasionally this may end up in your “junk folder” so check that as well.

No GST is charged on international orders (orders with a delivery address outside Australia). Monista Tea Co. is not liable for any additional duties, taxes or surcharges that you may have to pay upon delivery to your country. If you are unsure, we recommend checking with local authorities before placing your order.

Online purchases of $64 or less can be delivered for $9.95 within the Australia.

RETURNS
Return Policy
Eligibility
We accept returns for faulty, damaged, or incorrect items.
Due to Australian health and safety regulations, we are unable to accept returns for change of mind.
Return Conditions
- Items must be unopened, unused, and in their original condition.
- Returns must be initiated within:
- 14 days of receiving the item (Australian orders)
- 30 days of receiving the item (International orders)
Return Shipping
Return postage is the responsibility of the customer unless the item is confirmed to be faulty or incorrect. We recommend using a trackable shipping service, as we cannot refund lost parcels.
Refunds
Refunds are issued once returned items are received and inspected. Cost of delivery will not be included in the refund. Items that are opened, damaged, or returned in unsellable condition will not be refunded.
We’re unable to accept returns for change of mind or opened tea due to food safety regulations.
Please email our team at sales@monista.com.au with your order number, the reason for your return, and any relevant photos. We’ll get back to you with return address.
Once we receive and inspect the returned item(s), refunds will be processed within 3–5 business days to your original payment method. We can not refund to a different account.
Yes – unless the item is incorrect or faulty. In those cases, we’ll cover the return shipping or offer an exchange.
To protect all customers, we inspect every return. We are unable to offer refunds for empty, damaged, or used items.
